Elm Drive/Maw Green Road/Groby Road junction

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category anonymously at 09:10, Thu 8 December 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4022268.

This is an extremely dangerous junction to try to cross on foot at any point as traffic can approach from 4 different directions at once - at speed. There are no safety measures in place to assist pedestrians. Also there are few road markings, so drivers are taking matters in their own hands. It is only a matter of time before there is a serious accident at this spot. I live on Maw Green Estate (Meadow View) and the original planning permission for the land development (ref 12/0831N) included a roundabout at this junction already planned. This was nearly 10 years ago and the surrounding area has hundreds more new dwellings which will inevitably increase the danger at this junction. Please can you update as to what is happening with this junction improvement? Thank you

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
