Junction of Brookledge Lane and Shrigley Road, Pott Shrigley, Macclesfield

Reported via mobile in the Grass Cutting category anonymously at 20:12, Tue 6 December 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4019421.

I don’t know if the triangular grass verge forming this junction is your responsibility. But at 11:17am today I witnessed a haulage contractor’s lorry destroy one corner of this verge by doing a completely inappropriate three point turn over it. I think the driver had turned into Shrigley Road, then decided to back into the lower link to Brookledge Lane in order then to turn right - back towards the higher access junction to Brookledge Lane. The driver appeared oblivious to the damage he was doing, despite the lorry tipping alarmingly as the back wheels struggled to grip on the grass, turning it to mud. I considered contacting the haulage company to complain but thought it best to contact you first. See attached photos showing the lorry and the damage it caused.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
