Spanning the entire road on the bridge over the River Dean.

Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 11:29, Wed 23 November 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council 5 minutes later. Council ref: 3986644.

The road is so flooded that both pavements were underwater, making the footway impassible without waterproof footwear / boots. This has effectively cut off pedestrian access south from Handforth. This location floods regularly as you can see from previous reports, and poses some safety issue due to the 40 mph speed limit on this section.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
