14 Ashworth Park

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3986409.
I’m writing from 14 Ashworth Park in Knutsford WA16 9DE, a couple of houses down from us there is flooding across the road and down a short cul de sac of three houses (18-22 Ashworth Park). The council will be aware of the issue as it has tried (unfortunately unsuccessfully) to resolve the issue by clearing drains in the past. When we’ve had similar issues in the past, the water has subsided itself but this time it hasn’t, which could be down to a few reasons. 1. Drain are still blocked 2. The water table is just too high and water is unable to drain anywhere 3. The council cut one of the trees back to its trunk earlier in the year so it possibly doesn’t soak up as much water as it did previously. Regardless, the matter really does need your attention please, mainly because the residents at 18-22 are effectively ‘cut off’ and one of these houses has 4 young boys who can’t walk to school currently as the flood is up to the bottom of their drive. It’s is also terribly dangerous with cars driving (some at speed) through the flood.
Another wet day is only adding to the issue. The only solution I can see for now is pumping the water out as it simply will not drain away given the forecast and it has been like this for over a week now. Please can you prioritise this as a matter of urgency?

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
