Starling Droppings & Tree Issues
Reported via desktop in the Hedge/Tree Maintenance category anonymously at 13:41, Fri 18 November 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3974899.
There are issues with the two Red Oak trees located along a public footpath in Audlem which runs between Churchview and Churchfields. Over the last couple of weeks, a large flock of starlings have taken up daily residence in these trees during daylight hours and are showering the adjacent area with a significant amount of droppings which are landing on property, vehicles, gardens, washing lines, fences and pedestrians. This issue is causing a high level of anxiety amongst residents due to the potential health hazard caused by starling droppings and the added worry of the current bird flu outbreak. Further to this, at one of the affected houses there is a child with special needs and learning difficulties and his parents are extremely worried about him coming in contact with these droppings. Also there does appear to be a couple of diseased branches in these two trees which are located above directly above public footpath.

While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
