Between Sunny side house and Weaver View
Reported via mobile in the Footway category anonymously at 17:11, Mon 14 November 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3963754.
Today, at approx 16.00hrs, as I was walking along the pavement into Church Minshull from my house I had to take evasive action and lean against the wall to avoid a large wagon that had mounted the pavement coming through the village. I was wearing a high vis jacket so the driver would have seen me but he didn’t slow down and went passed me at speed. He mounted the pavement to pass a vehicle that was on the other side of the road near the pinch point on the road between Sunnyside and Weaver View. Large vehicles are mounting this very narrow stretch of pavement on a regular basis, sometimes at speed, as the road here is not wide enough for them to pass on coming large vehicles including buses, wagons, tractors. There are visible wagon tyre marks all along that stretch of very narrow pavement, which is badly lit at night. This is not a one off incident and has happened numerous times while I have been walking and I feel I have to report it as I am concerned that it is only a matter of time before someone gets badly injured or killed on that stretch of pavement through Church Minshull. It feels very dangerous to walk along it into the village. I have reported this incident to the police and would welcome some discussion with yourselves about how this stretch of road/pavement could be made safer or see some positive action to try and address this issue to help prevent a serious incident occurring.
