Alleyway behind 39 Electricity street crewe CW2 7EW

Reported via mobile in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 17:43, Tue 1 November 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3930920.

The drain in the alley appears to have become blocked. With the recent rain it has completely blocked the alley off to the extent people are going to need wheelies to take their bins out. It is bringing silt up so there is a concern for the health of people having to walk through this. It spreads the entire width of the alley and across almost 3 houses in length. At the point this photo was taken it was as deep as the step into the back garden so risking flooding onto private land. This same drain appeared recently (about a month ago) to have had oil dumped down it which was visible from the swirled colours and the thick black sludge on the ground around it

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
