Oakwood Lane, near the Moat Lake
Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 20:40, Sun 16 October 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3893837.
The road has been continually flooded all summer and is now also covered with mud. Water is flowing out of the woodland across Oakwood Lane into the Moat fishing lake. A film of oil from the road is entering the lake water, which may be causing pollution. The Moat is a SSSI site so this is concerning. There are at least two drain pipes which run under the road to allow water to enter the lake, these are all blocked and need cleaning out. As winter approaches and conditions get colder, the sitting water on the road may freeze which will be dangerous for vehicles, cyclist, pedestrians and horseriders.

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
