On the roadway of Town Lane, Mobberley in front of 86 Town Lane

Reported via desktop in the Noise or Vibration category anonymously at 16:27, Tue 11 October 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3883116.

The drain cover has sunk into the road and as you can see on the photo, the tarmac has cracked all the way around the manhole cover and has also sunk below the road level. There could be further damage to the drain below the manhole cover as whenever a HGV or bus drives over the manhole, the vibration of the drain beneath it can be felt in the houses on Town Lane and even as far as 3 Appleby Crescent (my property) which is a 1st floor duplex apartment some 20 metres from the man hole. In terms of the vibration, the front door of 3 Appleby Crescent actually shakes.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
