Hedge obstructing pavement at 26 The Crescent, Macclesfield

Reported via desktop in the Hedge/Tree Maintenance category anonymously at 14:02, Wednesday 5 October 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3870116.

The hedge outside 26 The Crescent, Macclesfield, was subject recently to a Hedge and Trees Notice. Since then, the side of the hedge, but not the top, has been trimmed but the result is way short of what is required to enable pedestrians to use the footpath. The path is approx 4 feet wide but the hedge protrudes more than half way across it. It is impossible for an adult to walk on the path alongside this property. Ideally, the hedge needs to be cut back severely to the property boundary, or at the very least as far back as the hedge has been trimmed by all other property occupiers along this stretch of The Crescent. Previous reference is 3448066

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
