Main A6 Disley outside the primary school

Reported via mobile in the Carriageway category anonymously at 08:30, Wednesday 28 September 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3853660.

This issue has been reported on multiple occasions over the past 3 years and nothing has been done about it. It is a trip hazard when crossing the road, someone will either be serious injured or killed one day by on coming traffic. It causes massive flooding when it rains and excessive road noise from 2am when the quarry trucks come through heading towards Stockport which wakes us all up so I’m even more grumpy than normal. You send someone out every 6 months to paint numbers on it so it looks like you’re doing something about it but to avail, save your engineers time in the and call the primary school as I’m sure they’ll be more than willing to go and paint it in pretty colours for you. All we want to know is do you have any intentions of resurfacing this section of the carriage way anytime soon / in a timely manner or are you waiting to see if one of the asteroid fragment’s currently heading for earth will improve the road surface saving you a job ? I think the best solution is for a private contractor to carry out the repairs and we send you the invoice.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
