Chester Road/Oxford Road Roundabout
Reported via desktop in the Barriers category anonymously at 16:46, Tuesday 27 September 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3852871.
When vehicles (especially large vehicle) are entering onto Oxford Road from the roundabout, they sometimes cut the corner onto the footpath posing a possible issue with making contact with a pedestrian waiting to cross Oxford Road or walking on the footpath onto Oxford Road. I myself have had several “close” calls with vehicles. The bins showing in the images only add to the risk, but I am not sure which properties they belong to. Is there any way to have reflective bollards adding to the footpath area to highlight the risk to drivers and hopefully not “cut” the corner so much. I live very close to the junction and my children use this footpath but not only this many school children also use this footpath.
Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.
During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
