A safe and visible crossing is desperately needed here for the primary school children and parents crossing the main road twice a day from Mckelvey road and the new estate to Heathfield rd to reach the primary school. It’s an accident waiting to happen as although it is a 30mph zone very few vehicles follow this and exceed this speed.
In addition a well placed speed camera on Audlem road near little Heath green would deter the speeding motorists, improve safety for pedestrians and road users and raise revenue to quickly pay for these improvements. As an example, the speed camera in Hough is a highly effective deterrent.
Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.
During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
