Most of Byrons Lane, from Walker Lane to London Road

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category anonymously at 15:28, Mon 12 September 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3819931.

There has been recent work on this section of road, but the surface is awful. Please do not pay whichever contractor has done this work until they have rectified this work. There are holes, divits, ruts, ridges, bumps, lumps all along this road now. It is awful to cycle along, especially heading towards Macc from Sutton. Outside the Ye Olde Kings Head pub there is a whole section on the southern side of the carriageway which has a very strange camber on it, meaning that you have to cycle in the middle of the road. Please do not line paint until the surface is dealt with. I am shocked at how badly this work has been done! Clearly they didn't fill the existing potholes before they put the new surface on. Please please make it safer for everyone by doing some more work on the surface.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
