Pooling/flooding on Sandbach Road South near railway line

Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 07:10, Mon 5 September 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3802553.

When it rains it pools/floods across the road/pavement and up our driveway. Traffic has to go onto the wrong side of the road to avoid it. The grids are blocked on Sandbach Road South and Fields Road which is making it worse. Pedestrians have to cross over as they cannot walk along the pavement. When traffic does drive through the flood it causes a wave of water which is slowly ruining our garden and destroying the plants in our border. I have been reporting the issue to the local Council for the last 4 years now and told it is part of their maintenance programme, it never gets resolved.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
