Between the Co-op and the junction of Heath Rd/Hassall Rd

Reported via desktop in the Pelican/Toucan Crossings category anonymously at 16:00, Sun 28 August 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3786284.

There desparately needs to be a pedestrian crossing installed across The Hill, Sandbach. Its nearly impossible to cross this road safely. Many young families try to cross this road during peak times to walk to St Johns Sandbach Heath. Since the Co-op opening their shop the situation is far worse due to cars constantly parked on the double yellow lines and vehicles coming in/out of their car park with their view obstructed into the on-coming traffic on the road. When the Co-op receive a delivery they park on the road and obstruct the view for all vehicles coming out of this car park. The truck then does a 360 degree turn in the road which is not safe practise. The road is also used heavily by the emergency services to access the M6 service road every day at high speed. All making The Hill a very dangerous road to cross for all.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
