Pothole caused by water leak now HUGE and DEEP

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 22:26, Wednesday 3 August 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3729138.

Previously reported pothole with water leak now become 3 potholes and main one increasing in size all the time: Now 5-6"+ deep and very steep-sided. I have video of vehicles hitting this making a sickening sound, almost certainly damaging their vehicles, but more serious is the danger to two-wheeled traffic, which could easily be dismounted and result in serious injury or death. NOW URGENT PRIORITY ACTION NEEDED!

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.

  • Responsibility for the issue you have reported sits with a utility company. We have contacted them and asked that they undertake maintenance.

State changed to: not the council's responsibility
