Dumping of tarmac, creating an unofficial layby
Reported via desktop in the Parking category anonymously at 13:20, Wed 27 July 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3710832.
This has created a false sense of a lay-by. Please can Cheshire East Highways install a 'P' sign at this location directing drivers to the official lay-by, some 500 metres further. Small trucks often park here but can't fit so overhang onto the highway.

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.

We deal with defects based on the level of immediate risk. We have assessed the issue and it does not present an immediate risk to highway users at this time. As the problem you have reported is not causing an immediate safety issue we will now look at the best long- term approach for this location. We keep all roads and highway assets safe through our routine inspections. If anything is identified as a risk during a future inspection, we will take action to deal with it as appropriate.
