Junction of London Road South and Clifford Road
Reported via desktop in the Conditions of Signs category anonymously at 12:42, Friday 22 July 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3698316.
Your reference 3674655 I reported a problem with the weight sign at the junction, a bollard out of the ground and plastic barriers from a previous job being left at the site. I have now received an email stating that the problem has been fixed. You will see from the attached photo that the sign light is still at a 45 degree angle to the sign, due to the engineer who attended the site not being able to reach with the brush he was trying to it hit it with. Could he not have brought a ladder? Also the bollard is still out of the ground and the six barriers at the site.
Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.
During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.

We deal with defects based on the level of immediate risk. We have assessed the issue and it does not present an immediate risk to highway users at this time. As the problem you have reported is not causing an immediate safety issue we will now look at the best long- term approach for this location. We keep all roads and highway assets safe through our routine inspections. If anything is identified as a risk during a future inspection, we will take action to deal with it as appropriate.
State changed to: No further action
