38A/40 Stock Lane, Shavington, Crewe, CW2 5ED

Reported via mobile in the Footway category anonymously at 11:30, Sunday 3 July 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3643311.

The pavement is so narrow directly outside number 38A Stock Lane. It is not wide enough to fit a wheelchair or pushchair meaning you have to go onto the actual road when going along this path. According to the law 'passageways should be wide enough to allow double buggies and/or wheelchairs to pass (i.e. at least 1.8 m wide in circulation routes' This is simply not the case here, the hedge in place does not help, however even if that was cut back/removed, this pavement is clearly not to legal width and with no pavement on the other side of the carriageway this is unacceptable.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
