Pavement in front of 46 Bedford Gardens.
Reported via desktop in the Footway category by Steven Hogben at 13:22, Sat 2 July 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3641953.
The pavement was tarmacked in autumn 2021, and the contractors covered over the water stop cock. This was pointed out at the time to the contractor, who failed to take corrective action. The resident of 46 Bedford Gardens has reported this to the council twice by phone, but no action has been taken. The stop cock needs to be uncovered, as it is essential that there is access to it in case of water supply issues. United Utilities have shown no interest when this was reported by the resident. I can supply further contact details for the resident so that this can be resolved quickly. Action needs to be taken to prevent the possibility that this becomes an emergency.

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
