Temporary lights have been installed controlling a three way junction between London Road Sth and Clifford Road.
Reported via mobile in the Permanent Traffic Lights category by Cllr Michael Beanland at 19:52, Sat 25 June 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3623250.
The lights are giving priority to all three approaches. London Road Sth is a main thoroughfare to the A555 and traffic is far in excess of Clifford Road access requirements. At 17.00 hours on a Saturday the traffic build up along LRSth is horrendous with nothing on Clifford Road. Either dramatically alter the priority weighting heavily in favour of LRSth or block off access for Clifford Road as arranged in Adlington. These roadworks are planned to last until 30/06/22 and morning and evening traffic delays will be horrendous. Can this be done before the Monday chaos starts? Can the timing be altered before 7.30am as the quickest fix? Or block off traffic leaving / entering Clifford at LRSth end as traffic can be diverted through the Queensway estate.
Whoever designed the traffic flow for this repair work must have been having a bad day and wanted revenge.
