Crewe Road opp. no. 56/ florists

Reported via desktop in the Pelican/Toucan Crossings category anonymously at 18:37, Wednesday 8 June 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3581803.

There's a marked but unlit/ uncommissioned crossing in connection with the Cherry Tree Park estate crossing a wide part of Crewe Road. The new estate is gradually being populated and many residents are actually using the crossing despite there being no safe crossing point, and it being on the junction of the Main Road triangle outside Sugar Loaf cottage. The markings don't help as they give the impression that there's a crossing point despite there being no lights to aid. Please can a programme/ timescales be supplied by when this crossing will be installed and commissioned? It's been in limbo since Summer 2021. Thanks.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
