Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3541108.
The 40mph speed limit is too high for this stretch of road. The stretch of road is frequented by many cyclists and pedestrians but has no footpaths, this forces the pedestrians to walk over a blind bridge with cars travelling in excess of 40mph often travelling over the bridge in the middle of the road. this is an accident waiting to happen. the danger is even more prevalent at night as street lighting is none existent on the bridge. The stretch of road is also used by people racing cars. The speed limit needs reducing to 30mph

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.

We deal with defects based on the level of immediate risk. We have assessed the issue and it does not present an immediate risk to highway users at this time. As the problem you have reported is not causing an immediate safety issue we will now look at the best long- term approach for this location. We keep all roads and highway assets safe through our routine inspections. If anything is identified as a risk during a future inspection, we will take action to deal with it as appropriate.
State changed to: No further action
