Filter lane signalling absent, inadequate lane markings
Reported via desktop in the Conditions of Signs category anonymously at 22:51, Thu 19 May 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3538196.
The "improved" junction does not have filter lane signalling at the traffic lights. Travelling South on the A523 at the Bonis Hall Lane junction and attempting to turn left into Bonis Hall Lane the traffic going North towards Stockport has priority. Many times whilst waiting for a gap in traffic, vehicles have approached from the North at high speed, as the lane markings indicate straight on in this filter lane, and there have been many near-misses and soon there will be a collision at this junction.

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.

Heading in the Macclesfield direction at the “improved” junction of BonisHall Lane there is no filter lane or filter light on the traffic lights. Two lanes of traffic are coming up behind you at 40mph ( sometimes considerably more) and they don’t expect to have to stop on a green light so there is much screeching of brakes and horn beeping. The right hand lane should have been a dedicated filer lane for queuing to turn right into BonisHall Lane.
