Wettenhall Road Nr Nantwich. Up to and into Reasheath college bend
Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category by Paul McIntyre at 10:51, Fri 6 May 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3505835.
The road here is covered in holes along it and all across it making risk of falling from a bicycle materially higher. Last night a friend fell here and broke 2 ribs. I see it's been raised a few times and the problem has been ongoing for over one year. I'm a British Triathlon qualified instructor and I risk assessed this road over a year ago because I lead rides on this road and it hasn't improved. In our club, we end our rides just before this section to mitigate injuries but there is a race scheduled there on 22nd May for 500 or so riders as well as other regular users. A serious injury or fatality here is a matter of time. Patching probably isn't enough because of the weight of tractors coming in and out of the college and turning on it so needs a sufficient grade of repair. At least an uneven road sign needs to go there until this is done
Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.
During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
