Down hill in either direction to the roundabout at Welland Road
Reported via mobile in the Carriageway category anonymously at 22:20, Wed 27 April 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3487813.
Another serious ?fatal accident this evening. There has previously been a fatality here. Cars and bikes don’t consider the need to slow down coming down the hill in either direction. Many local residents have had near misses with cars not slowing or stopping as the come down the road from Handforth. Tonight unfortunately a cyclist did the same and may have lost his life hitting a car pulling out, correctly, as they had the priority, from Welland road. I have personally had several near misses with bikes and cars for the same reason. There need to be additional traffic calming measures installed as a matter of priority to slow cars approaching from Handforth to prevent any further deaths

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
