This blocked drain and area of sinking carriageway are opposite the driveway entrance into no.41 Main Road and in front of no.s 42/44 Main Road, Wybunbury.

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category by Cllr Janet Clowes at 13:09, Mon 25 April 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3481145.

The drain is blocked and areas around it are sinking causing exposure of the ironwork. Further into the middle of the carriageway is a previously patched area that has buckled and is also sinking causing deep irregularities in the road surface. These appear to have been reported in the past as there are the faded remains of yellow paint lines around them however the sinking of the road surface has become much worse in recent weeks (possibly because all the drains in this section of Main Road are blocked and need gully clearance).

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
