Pedestrian safety island in centre of road

Reported via desktop in the Conditions of Signs category anonymously at 23:07, Thursday 24 March 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3414421.

The road signs have been hit and damaged, one is missing and the second has no reflective element left. This is really dangerous in the dark, if a car cant see the signs advising there is a safety island then they may not see a pedestrian or even the island itself, which has raised kerbs? If a car struck the island the damage to the car could be significant, and it could stray across to cars coming in the other direction. This needs fixing urgently.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
