Wettenhall Road from A51 junction up to Dairy Lane turning

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category by Rachel Birchall at 13:39, Sunday 27 February 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3347732.

Wettenhall Road from A51 junction up to the Dairy Lane turning is very badly broken up and is damaging vehicles of road users like myself daily, even at 10 miles per hour! Cheshire East Council appears not to take account of very weighty farm traffic (tractors with slurry tankers, milk tankers and delivery suppliers) using this stretch of road 24/7, and the resultant rapid destruction of the road surface. All users of this road pay their taxes towards its maintenance but it is not being maintained. It is WELL OVERDUE for resurfacing as it has gone well past the state where patching could be effective. This stretch urgently needs resurfacing and yet I understand Cheshire East Council has no plans to do this. I must insist in the strongest terms that this stretch is urgently scheduled in for resurfacing. Thank you in advance.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
