Re-occurring blocked drain
Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 15:13, Wed 23 February 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3338379.
This is something you have tried to sort many times before. Drain on Oak lane (next to where Higher lane meets) gets blocked after heavy rain. There is a culvert just up the road and it brings gravel, mud and debris off the ridge which just fills in the drain. You have unblocked this several times and it just happens again after a few heavy rain falls. The consequence is that once the drain is blocked, a stream runs down the road each time we then get any rain at all and it is washing away both our and our next door neighbours drives at number 38 and 40. (See photos). There must be a longer term solution to this (bigger drain, better drain covers, change camber on the road).

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.

The investigation we have done so far has identified that we need to carry out more work to either better understand or resolve this problem. We have added this location to our drainage improvement programme list, which you can access online through the following link: https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/ highways_and_roads/ road-maintenance/ gullies-and-drains.aspx
