Street lights out on Waterloo Road, Poynton SK12 1TB

Reported via mobile in the Light Out category anonymously at 06:11, Thu 17 February 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3317742.

UPDATE STREETLIGHTS AND COUNCIL 24hr FLOOD ALERT CCTV MONITORING SYSTEM NOT WORKING

Waterloo Road, Poynton. SK12.

1) Streetlight next to Highfield House 2) Streetlights 8, 9,10,11,12(?) not working since end of November 2021. 3) Council 24hr FLOOD ALERT CCTV MONITORING SYSTEM adjacent to streetlight 11 is powered from same source.

These lampposts/CCTV are set on a small in width footpath that runs immediately to rear of properties and butts up to rear fences. This is a busy footpath used by vulnerable Poynton High and Worth Primary School Children. There is no other footpath on this section of Waterloo Road which is a narrow country Lane. The small footpath is set much lower than Waterloo Road highway surface and is also separated from the highway by a tall protected hedgerow, meaning this pavement is now absolutely pitch black, as is the road itself. First reported 6/12/21. Updated 8/12/21. CEC Generic 20 day reply received 8/12/21. Workers have been on site 2/3 times since and at one point lights worked intermittently.

Dates monitored by householder listed below. ON. Friday 7/1/22* ON. Friday 14/1/22* OFF. Thursday 13/1/22 OFF. Friday 14/1/22 OFF. Saturday 16/1/22 OFF. Sunday 17/1/22 ON. Monday 24/1/22* ON. Tuesday 25/1/22* ON. Wednesday 26/1/22* OFF. Thursday 27/1/22 OFF. Friday 28/1/22 OFF. Saturday 29/1/22 OFF. Up to and including 13/2/22 off

I note several other reports by various residents also been made since 01/12/22. I believe we residents have been quite patient, would now urge priority please especially due to lack of flood monitoring support. Thank you. JM 16/02/22 Monday Copied to CEC Flood Lead Poynton Town Council

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
