Towards the top of Artists Lane heading towards the Macclesfield road on the right hand side by the field gateway. There is a permanent drainage of ground water onto the carriage way. This has severely degraded the road surface down to to large aggregate. This is the first of a number of drainage problems on Artists Lane. The second is on the bend by Brynlow farm where the existing drainage from the right side (looking up Artists Lane) is not sufficient to carry heavy rainfalls which then heads down to Welsh Row. Further down Artists Lane below Flume Head cottage there has been excessive erosion of the left hand side of the road. There have been road cones marking this erosion for over 12 months now but no action to rectify. There was a road crew patching some pot holes on Tuesday 15/2/22 but quite frankly their efforts were pathetic and do not address the core reasons for erosion on Artists Lane (which is a Cheshire cycle route)

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
