Street light directly opposite number 80a canal road

Reported via mobile in the Flickering Light category anonymously at 10:21, Wed 16 February 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3315168.

I’m reporting this separately because I can see others have in early February and so I’d like to have it logged additionally so that you are aware it is a problem.

This doesn’t affect us as we are very slightly higher up on Canal Road and so we can ignore to a degree, but I imagine it’s a real nuisance for all the people backing on to it from St Peter’s Road estate and those directly opposite on Canal Road. It flicks on and off rhythmically all night from dusk every 7 seconds (we’ve counted 😂). When it is illuminated, it seems to surge and be much brighter. I’m not sure the people who’s bedrooms it’s lighting up, are getting much sleep, especially if they have children.

Thanks for sorting.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
