Action scheduled
Station Road, Wrenbury from the level crossing to the junction with Pinsley Green Road
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category by HELEN MAY at 17:10, Tue 15 February 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3313923.
This stretch of road has been deteriorating for several years with only occasional small repairs being done. The section from the entrance to James Gorse motors towards Aston beyond the driveway to The Granary is extremely hazardous with multiple pot holes, uneven and damaged tarmac and damaged road edges. The area is continually wet due to the blocked gully (Gully 790090685) by the driveway to The Granary. This has been blocked for more than 2 years. Water continually runs down the road creating a deep valley at the edge of the road and runs into gully 790090686 when this is clear. This recently became completely blocked and the whole road flooded and water flooded the garden of the Grange. This flood has only been cleared by someone moving the grid on this second gully. The multiple pot holes and uneven surface make this extremely hazardous for pedestrians, cyclist and car drivers. Cars have to swerve into the middle of the carriageway to try and avoid the most uneven bits, pedestrians have to walk in the middle of the road. This is a busy stretch of road taking school traffic, traffic to Wrenbury Station, traffic to the village amenities such as the Dr, Shop and cafe plus multiple other businesses. It is a disgrace that the council has allowed the road to continue to deteriorate and not address the blocked gully and resurfaced the entire stretch. Patching pot holes is simply not adequate.
