Judy Lane, outside Hawksby Cottage

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3312399.
The drain outside our house has been blocked for a very long time and reported on several occasions. The gully team attended on 12th January and again on 17th January but did not fix this drain despite attending to others on the lane. They informed me it was a ‘non runner’ and needed jetting and they would report it as such for attention. They said a jetting team would be out ‘soon’. Having looked at the gulley jetting schedule on the website there is no mention of this drain. My previous report on this has now been closed and the next scheduled gully cleaning visit appears to be in 2024! The running stream down the Lane is now causing major erosion to the side of the road and as predicted last last year has completely washed away the few pothole repairs that were made. The road surface is now in a seriously poor condition and literally deteriorating by the day in the current weather. It’s hard to understand why, after the gully team have attended, that it is still not fixed. PLEASE can someone come and inspect again and sort this out. It surely cannot take that long to fix as it is hopefully just a build up of leaves and organic matter blocking the drain. Thank you.

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.

As initial jetting has not resolved the problem we need to carry out further jetting work at this location. We have added it to our online jetting list, which you can find online through the link below. Once we have programmed the work it will appear on our online upcoming jetting schedule, which we update on a weekly basis. The list shows the schedule for up to 2 weeks in advance. The schedule is usually updated weekly so you may not see your location immediately, and changes might be made if we need to prioritise work due to emergencies or weather events. You can find the latest updates online through the following link: https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/ highways_and_roads/ road-maintenance/ gullies-and-drains.aspx
