Pothole which has reopened for possibly the 10th time

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 09:37, Tuesday 15 February 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3312272.

Pothole and surrounding road surface have been an issue for 3 years. Pothole has been poorly repaired several times. It has now reopened once again, causing awful crashing and vibrations when vehicles hit it. In addition to this, the whole sunken area fills with water, which then comes over the fence in a huge wave when vehicles drive though it. This means I cannot open my windows due to the water coming into the house. This problem is adjacent to a drain, which causes me to worry about the potential for my house flooding if the constant crashing and vibrating caused by tractors and other vehicles causes knock on damage to the drain due to this being an issue for such a long time

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
