Shared Space Flooding both sides of road, London Road South, Poynton, A523 just south of junction with Park Lane, north and southbound, outside no1 London Road SouthPanache.

Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 16:02, Monday 14 February 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3310987.

The road has been flooding for years on both sides of the carriageway. I would suggest that the gulley drains are completely ineffective and require digging up and relaying rather than just being blocked, as several attempts by your teams over the last few years has not improved the situation at all. As cars go through the floods they splash mud and grit all over the adjacent paths, over parked cars and pedestrians. Vulnerable two wheeled users have to steer carefully through the floods as the road is full of pot holes under the water.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
