Pavement outside Bridgefield Avenue gated entrance to 124 Manchester Rd, SK9 2JX (it is a corner house)

Reported via mobile in the Footway category anonymously at 21:24, Thursday 3 February 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3288415.

Pavement surface breaking up badly and has now developed into a growing hole which is a fort hazard for pedestrians. This problem is primarily caused by numerous cars and vans driving into the entrance to my property on a daily basis to turn around, having turned into Bridgefield Avenue by mistake. There is also damage to the dropped kerb edging stones and adjoining road surface, where areas of tarmac have been worn away, exposing old cobbles. The problem has been developing for months, but has recently deteriorated quickly.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
