Footpath, between the BP petrol station and service road No2 on the B5569.

Reported via desktop in the Footway category anonymously at 14:02, Thursday 3 February 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3287435.

The overgrowth/ Detritius on this pavement is really bad. 2 people cannot walk side by side. We were promised that when this road was de-trunked all the maintenance would be done, this was nearly 5 years ago and nothing has been done. Residents walk along this pavement to cross onto the cycle/bridleway, it is so narrow traffic pulls into the middle of the road to avoid people walking on this pavement . Mere Parish council have asked Cheshire East on several occasions to clear this pavement with no response. Our MP has also contacted Cheshire East about this issue.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
