Zebra crossing north side of roundabout

Reported via desktop in the Zebra Crossing category by Dave Jones at 15:40, Thursday 20 January 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3255113.

Traffic regularly fails to stop for pedestrians waiting to cross or even in the act of crossing. I myself and my wife have had near misses on several occasions. Today I witnessed a female pedestrian actually knocked over. Please remedy this by changing the crossing to Pelican one where lights force drivers to stop. Regards David Jones

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.

  • We have assessed the issue and included it in the repair and improvement programme for this financial year. While we make every effort to keep to the programme, it can sometimes change to stay within the available budget.
