Passing place by the cottages on the carriageway after the first bend in the road and before the two cottages on the left side of the lane.y the two cottages after

Reported via desktop in the Slurry or Mud on the Highway category anonymously at 19:17, Sunday 16 January 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3245085.

Slurry and mud is so bad that you cannot use the passing place at this point in the lane without getting stuck in the ditch like mud or skidding into the hedges. It is totally dangerous to use which means that two cars meeting have to drive up the verges into the hedges scratching their vehicles and dangerously trying to pass each other. The other nearest passing places are miles away and cannot be reversed into safely. This needs urgent attention as the weather is not going to improve. Photos will follow but could not be taken in the dark.

  • The above photos have been added to this reported reference 3245085 on 20th January 2022. This reference/issue is now outstanding for over a month. The photographs show the extent of the problem we have on Baddiley Hall lane. The passing place is so dangerous being full of slurry and deep crevices that it cannot be used and is making driving past vehicles completely treacherous at this time. You can clearly see 1. The effects of the carriageway erosion and deep crevices on the lane by the passing place (significant pothole worsened over the last few weeks and 2. The extent of the slurry and mud which has created frozen crevices likely to trap a cars wheels and force skidding into the passing place. This really does need resolution now before an accident happens. Would really appreciate someone from the council Highways department sorting this out.
