Streetlight outside 46 New Hall Street
Reported via desktop in the Light Out category anonymously at 11:52, Friday 14 January 2022
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3240252.
The street lights were in New Hall Street were replaced in late 2021. There are two problems with the one outside 46 New Hall Street:
1. The replacement streetlight does not work and has not worked since installation.
2. For some reason, the old concrete streetlamp has been sawn off at chest height and left in place, not removed properly like the other street lights that were replaced. See photo. It is dangerous and an eyesore.

Responsibility for the issue you have reported sits with a utility company. We have contacted them and asked that they undertake maintenance.

Thank you for your reply. Hopefully, the utility company will respond promptly. Please update this ticket with their response. Ultimately, it IS the council's responsibility to ensure that street lighting is maintained and the council who would be liable if a member of the public were to suffer an injury due to poorly maintained street lighting.
State changed to: Open
