Concrete barrier on north bound unlit carriageway

Reported via mobile in the Winter Maintenance category anonymously at 19:47, Wednesday 5 January 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3218807.

There are two section of concrete barrier near to where the railway crosses overhead which are poorly signed and inadequately lit. There are plenty of cones which are placed on the embankment away from the obstruction. I was travelling on this road tonight when a car on the inside lane swerved into my outer lane approximately 100 yards in front of me. The driver saw the obstruction and took evasive action to miss this dangerous mass. I guess he was lucky to see it! And I was glad I was a good distance away from both.

  • If you consider an unlit concrete barrier on an unlit carriageway which causes vehicles to swerve constantly as they meet it during dusk till dawn 'fixed' then you definitely havn't viewed the problem yourself! Very poor road safety.
