Footpath opposite the football ground, the part running up to the traffic lights.

Reported via desktop in the Footway category anonymously at 17:16, Saturday 15 January 2022

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3206455.

The part of the footpath when it's raining is basically slippery mud. To prevent falling over, I am often forced to walk on the road. I can understand why there might be a presumption that everyone drives and therefore the condition of the footpath is not important but the truth is that not everyone drives and the expectation of at least passable footpath cannot be taken as unreasonable. I understand that this was reported in September 2021 but nothing has changed. I have attached pictures of the current state of the pathway to support my reporting of the issue, as I have moved to the area last December, so the matter has been neglected for much longer than the report in September and I hope that this will not be left for another year. I spoke to the developer who denied the ownership of the land, so I believe this is the responsibility of the Council.

  • This is not part of the adopted highway network, so we do not maintain it. You can search for the roads we maintain on our gazetteer: https://maps.cheshireeast.gov.uk/ ce/ adoptedroadsgazetteer/ Search.aspx. The adjacent landowners are usually responsible for maintenance. You should either contact them or the local Residents Association to let them know about the problem. We are unable to pass on details about the landowner, but you can find out information about them through The Land Registry: https://www.gov.uk/ government/ organisations/ land-registry
