Footpath FP16 at CW58PT
Reported via desktop in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 10:08, Wed 15 December 2021
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3181071.
A council drain runs alongside the footpath from a gully on Chapel Lane to the brook alongside Wrenbury Road. This is now blocked. The drain starts 4 inches diameter but discharges into an open ditch alongside The Laurels at 6 inches. We jetted the from the gully but hey a hard obstruction about 2/3 of way (the water was still flowing then) . We have now attempted to rod upwards but agin met a hard obstruction. We suspect that there may be an inspection chambrays receiving water from Baddiley close but there is no sign of it.

The problem is now critical, the water is pouring down our entrance driveway and washing it out , it also is now running down the public footpath and damaging that. The drain itself seems to be totally blocked.

We deal with gullies based on the level of immediate risk. We have assessed this location and it is not considered to present an immediate danger to highway users at this time. We are due to empty the gullies here as part of our routine programme in the next 12 weeks. This means we will not visit before the scheduled visit unless there is an immediate threat to life or the inside of property. You can find out the scheduled visit date by visiting our website: https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/ highways_and_roads/ road-maintenance/ gullies-and-drains.aspx
