Moss Road (section of road starting outside Byeways)

Reported via mobile in the Flooding category anonymously at 02:00, Thu 9 December 2021

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3168563.

Drains/gullies are blocked along stretches of Moss Road as well as The Hough (and also in other parts of Alderley Edge).

Following the extremely heavy rainfall during the evening of 8 December (6pm-9:30pm), surface water accumulated quickly and flooded the road because many of the drains were blocked.

The conditions were extremely hazardous for motorists, pedestrians and local residents.

There is a high risk that flooding could recur with further heavy rainfall.
