A530 Middlewich Road
Reported via desktop in the Footway category anonymously at 12:55, Tue 7 December 2021
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3164989.
I'm afrais I have to report this problem for yet another time. This footpath now needs all the encroaching vegetation digging out. It used to be passable as a footway, but it is now down to less than 12 inches in places and is now dangerous to walk along. The path used to stretch between Bradfield Green and Leighton Hospital.

We have assessed the issue and added it to our improvement programme for repair over the longer term. This means we are unlikely to do any improvement work here during the current financial year. Our programmes sometimes change if more funding becomes available. You should check our website for any updates. You can find details of the work planned for this location and where it currently sits on the programme through our website: https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/ highways_and_roads/ road-maintenance/ road-repair-and-improvement-programme-2021-2022/ road-repair-and-improvement-programme-2021-2022.aspx

Thank you for your update. As you will be aware, and in accordance with the .gov website, "in maintaining and protecting public rights of way The highway authority must: keep the surface of public rights of way which are maintained at public expense in a fit state for public use and make sure obstructions are removed." This is the third time I have had to raise this with you over 3 years and no action has been taken. I should be grateful if you could now make this matter a formal complaint and advise me of your complaints procedure.
