Crossing outside Dominos
Reported via mobile in the Pelican/Toucan Crossings category anonymously at 19:23, Wed 17 November 2021
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3129743.
Audible crossing signal has been missing for over 6 months. Please could it be fixed? Also, please could some routine checks be applied to crossing even if it's as simple as a member of staff checking on the way to or from work?

We deal with defects based on the level of immediate risk. We have assessed the issue and it does not present an immediate risk to highway users at this time. As the problem you have reported is not causing an immediate safety issue we will now look at the best long- term approach for this location. We keep all roads and highway assets safe through our routine inspections. If anything is identified as a risk during a future inspection, we will take action to deal with it as appropriate.

Hi - I don't think the touch sensor is working either, so it may be an immediate risk to a person with visual impairment? Also, please could you comment on the frequency of checks for this type of crossing? My bad for not raising this earlier but I believe it's been faulty for over a year, are there no routine checks to ensure crossings work or is it purely relying on public reports?

Hi - you marked this as no further action and said it did not present an immediate risk? I think this might be incorrect. For a person with vision impairment this crossing is unusable, meaning the council is discriminating against some by marking as "no further action". Audible and tactile signals are broken and have been for over 6 months.
