Church Road, northbound (downhill) lane adjacent to entrance to private road between charity shop and residential home; near middle of road. (Map location is quite precise.) Site of prior road work, identifiable from square-shaped infill, roughly 60cm x 60cm.
Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 21:27, Mon 25 October 2021
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3084389.
Depression in road infill at site of prior road work. Depression smooth and gradual.
This is one of four similar defects in the immediate area (all to be reported) that are problematic for cyclists. Swerving to avoid one leads the cyclist directly into another. The defects are dangerous, especially given the higher speeds and longer stopping distances associated with the comparatively steep downhill bearing.

Although work's been done on this defect, it's not enough to remedy the fault. The depression in the road is little or no better. It remains problematic for cyclists.
Either only a very thin layer of replacement infill was placed in the depression or the subsequent passage of traffic over the repair has caused the infill to sink even deeper into the road. Certainly, there was no attempt to make a repair that was flush with the surrounding road surface.
Due to the nature of the defect, capturing the depth of the depression in photos is difficult.
